Village Montessori of Lexington - Because we believe it takes a village to raise our children.
The name Village Montessori was inspired by the African proverb ‘it takes a village to raise a child’.  As parents and teachers, we understand how important it is to know that your child is spending their day in a secure, nurturing and enriching environment.   Our goal at Village Montessori is to provide children with a safe, educational and creative place where they can learn about the world around them and the world inside of them.  We hope you will consider making us part of your ‘village’.
Why Consider a Montessori education for your child?
Studies have supported Dr. Maria Montessori’s findings that children make huge developmental strides between birth and the age of six. The Montessori classroom provides a child with the tools and materials that make those learning experiences a natural and fun activity, and is a place where a child uses all of his or her senses to investigate a carefully prepared environment. Montessori teachers are trained to recognize a child’s ‘periods of readiness’ and guide them in learning through their own experiences. A Montessori classroom is also a place of peace, where cooperation and kindness are emphasized at all times
